The Relocation Process

 

Initial Consultation

 

Once you’ve decided to relocate to NYC the first step will be to have an initial consultation with one of our seasoned relocation specialists.  Over the course of the discussion, Homestead New York will guide you through the housing and neighborhood options Manhattan has to offer, and together we will create a personalized “blue-print” of your specific relocation, based on the unique needs of you/your family.  At this time you will also be assigned the most appropriate agent for your case.

 

Homestead New York encourages you to take advantage of our Renter’s/Buyer’s resources, to get a preliminary understanding of what relocating to Manhattan entails.

 

 

Beginning the Search

 

The second step in your relocation journey will be to commence your personal search.

You and your agent will do a thorough review of your needs and financial considerations, and create a framework, in which to secure your most ideal apartment.

 

At this time you will also be assisted in the collection of all the required documentation prospective New York City tenants/buyer’s are expected to provide.

 

Your agent will be happy at any point in the viewing process to take you on an in-depth tour of your potential neighborhood(s), to assure you get the best possible sense or your new environment.

 

 

Obtaining Your Apartment

 

After you have decided upon your home, your agent will walk you through all aspects of securing the apartment.

 

Together, you will negotiate the terms of the lease/the closing of your real estate (depending on if you are renting or buying property in New York City).

 

 

Setting Up Your Home

 

Before moving in, you and your agent will do a final inspection of the apartment and solidify your move in date with the Landlord/Super.

 

In order to assure that your relocation runs as smoothly as possible, at this time, Homestead New York will assist you in making sure all of the “groundwork” is in place for setting up your home. 

 

Your agent will:

            -Provide you with a list of qualified movers (and help you solidify their services)

            -Assist you in the set up of all utilities

            -Provide information on Renter’s insurance/Obtaining a NYS driver’s license etc.

            -Assist you in all aspects of furnishing

            -Provide you with Contact information for interior design/painting experts

 

 

Continued Support

 

Working with Homestead New York means that your relocation support does not end upon your move in date.  Your agent will check in with you on a routine basis for the first half-year following your lease signing, and will be fully available to answer any of your questions or concerns regarding this or any other relocation.
