Approximate Boundaries

Northern/Southern Borders: Chambers Street—Manhattan’s Southern Tip
Eastern/Western Borders: East River—Battery Park City

The Financial District is one of Manhattan’s oldest commercial/residential neighborhoods. It is an area saturated with some of the city’s most famous landmarks, home to the first skyscrapers, and an icon for both national and international business and trade.

A once relatively desolate region at the typical weekdays and weekends, the Financial District has in recent years seen major increases in residency, and subsequently comparable increases in commercial activity to accommodate the ever growing population.

It is an aesthetically breathtaking neighborhood, with intricate turn of the century architecture, the renovated South Street Seaport, luxury housing options, and many well-kept public spaces.

Due to its location at Manhattans southern tip, this neighborhood has access to most of the major subway lines, as well as bus and water taxi transportation.

With the new World Trade Center Site scheduled for completion by 2010, the value and desirability of this location and its real estate are increasing with every passing day.
