Upper Eastside
Approximate Boundaries:
Northern/Southern Borders: 110th Street—59th Street
Eastern/Western Borders: the East River—Central Park
Though famed for its exceptionally affluent residents/real estate (the Upper Eastside was once known as the “richest zip code in America”), this district is actually home to a broad socio/economic demographic.
Much like its Western neighbor, the Upper Eastside is fraught with cultural activity, a wide range of dining options, and of course ideal access to “green spaces”; most notably Central Park.
Copious amounts of sports bars and local pubs, tone down the more pretentious elements of this area. And enclaves such as Yorkville (the region’s eastern most portion) provide relatively affordable housing, ensuring that the population stays diverse.
